Pagan

3 or 10 When people again and again hurt your feelings we are given a wealth of options.
Ignore or Fight Back is the pendulum. For the most part I ignore and forgive. I’m very good at either overlook, justify, or the worst “enable”. That comes from several beliefs that are engrained early in life. And as an adult we are to evolve into “I” statements.
Let’s face it there are lots of people that can’t hear “I” statements.
People get wrapped up in their oun thoughts, education, and emotional intelligence. Me included for sure. And it’s kind of 50/50 from pure logic and pure feelings. Me included.
With troubles we all look to solve them. Today I’m a big fat failure. Not 100% but at the end 150% emotions took over logic. I’m human so we have that part of the equation. I’m not mad at me for being pushed, yet I am mad at me for kicking back.
I posted 100% support for a person including “thank you” “admiration” and “respect”. I posted about his “idea” being 2 parts, with my absolute love for 1 idea, and concerns about the other half. No name calling or degrading his thoughts. He called me “irresponsible”. It hurt my feelings. And my failure was lashing out in anger at the hurt.
The human element that Jesus makes note of solutions for I completely failed. To be fair the last 2 times he has behaved badly I was strong enough to follow the instructions.
3 or 10 this morning I backtracked my behavior and changed my angry hurt response. “Pray unceasingly” is where my day started. Asking for God to forgive me for my failures. And asking “for the strength to respond” within His word. His word says “I’m to treat my problem (that refuses to change his behavior) as a pagan. I’m never “irresponsible” I always do my best to be very responsible, moral, upright. The Holy Spirit showed up in prayer to acknowledge the hurt. The human. The failure. He (The Holy Spirit) is always soft when needed and loud when needed. This morning He was loud, offering me some shame waiting for me to get humble. I’m humbled… I failed, I changed course, I asked to be forgiven, and I accept, pagan, tax collectors, are in the world. And that fact doesn’t change on any level.
The Bible is absolutely the best instructional list of “the right” way to behave. Being hurt is human, rising above it is at times hard work.
