Rock Bottom

3 or 10
Sometimes rock bottom is the best place to find yourself. It creates a foundation for a good “bend your knees so a strong jump out of the hole” can be executed. It is also at times the place we find ourselves when we do 2 things, scream “Jesus take the Wheel” and we become determined to “change” something.
Passive health care very rarely works.
Yesterday, after a year of sick, I told a doctor that “if I was a dog and this sick, I would euthanize”.
The flu keeps running my life, days even a week at times in bed. I even made one trip to the ER and this last week felt to terrible to drive my self in. So I made an official “Jesus take the Wheel” declaration.
My dr sees me once or twice a year for chronic illness that I refuse to “know” are an issue. Yeah I’m pretty good at blowing off my needs!!! Bad… Annette for sure.
But as I screamed out this last week (4th flu in a year) The Holy Spirit or an Angel responded with “why are you ignoring your lupus?”
Dead thyroid causes weight gain, hair falling out, sluggish, but one trait is no temperature regulation!!! The flu also no temperature regulation but does respond to Tylenol.
Symptoms of lupus “flare” similar to the flu. And does respond to Tylenol but only well enough to let ya drift to sleep waking up begging to just not be in pain. You know you’re in pain when your hands ache so bad ya can’t cradle a cup of hot coffee for some heat to give relief.
So not sure if The Holy Spirit or an Angel instructed but I doubled my lupus support medicine… SOME MUCH NEEDED RELIEF. Not good but some sleep. 4 days of double medicine helped enough to get me out of bed and to a dr appointment yesterday.
12 days in bed is never pleasant but 4x in a year is ridiculous.
So dr… accepted my self diagnosis and went to work (big smiley face). He heard me!!! That’s always refreshing. The exam showed an underlying lung infection that hasn’t been treated. So 2 lung medicines, one an antibiotic, one to treat airways. He found no pneumonia which is a huge blessing!!!
The next step in lupus is steroids. Like I need a medicine which creates a grouchy hungry “bitchy” person. I’ve never met a steroid treatment plan that created a pleasant person happy about being fat!!!
Can you imagine my 0 to 60 temper being pushed by pure overwhelming hate??? Yeah I’m not thinking that would make life better! I’m not interested in planning for 0 to 120 at an irrational moment in time.
3 or 10 it is true we all must at times hit rock bottom. The trick in life is not staying there!!! I slept last night which is nice. I don’t feel rested but don’t think I need euthanized…. (Smiley face) So I did a step up the climb out of rock bottom. I pray we indeed found some answers with solutions yesterday. I hope it is just an infection that responds to treatment. I hope the double lupus meds hold. I hope I have indeed reached rock bottom.
